Mr Mencken Away On Vacation

In mid-April 1912, Mr Mencken and his friend Alexander Hopkins McDannald sailed from New York to Bremen aboard the Kronprinz Wilhelm for a visit to several cities in Germany (Munich, Heidelberg) and London, England.

Mr Mencken let readers know he was going away in his Free Lance column of April 17, 1912 (he had long sailed by then) and resumed his column on June 3, 1912.
